The darkness folds around me, but I know that Thou canst see:
Even darkness cannot hide my fearful, trembling form from Thee!
When hidden danger threaten, or when I can plainly see
All that threatens to o’ertake me, teach me then to trsut in Thee.
Teach me to sing Thy praises when my heart is fraught with fear,
Train my eyes to look upon Thee, not upon what threatens here;
And with thanksgiving bringing, oh, but that I e’er would turn
To Thee with all my cares, and would not Thy peace sweetest spurn.
So take my hand, O Father,
And in loving, patient voice,
Tell me once again to trust in Thee,
And always, to rejoice!
